Mutilate is like a warrior that does less damage or a feral druid for example. (strangely enough, combat and mutilate are more viable now than they have ever been but Sub is still stronger, these other specs dont fill a niche. Blizzard took this away and Sub Hemo build became the strongest when they allowed shadowstep to be used outside of stealth. The last time combat was strong for pvp was season 1 and 2 during TBC because of mace stuns and a harp build that allowed you to gain prep which reset adrenaline rush. Prep also reset smokebomb at the time with a glyph. Further increases 0 spec diversity of rogues in pvp. Assassination loses access to Preparation. Then in season 8 Sub got damage buffs and armor pen and mutilate was only good vs a couple comps so everyone played sub unless they ran into a repeat opposing team consisting of plate classes then they would switch to envenom mutilate.Ĭataclysm: Rogues get a potent heal, more armor and health. For season 6 I think it was the same, for season 7 all that changed was mut rogues started using deadly poison and envenom in pvp which destroyed plate wearers. Mutilate had a couple seasons in early wrath, for season 5 Classic mutilate was the most viable build, it did the most damage and subs damage was pathetic.
